Calgary Typewrites started from the need of a writer to break writer blockage…

 
“After trying all types of writing instruments, ranging from mechanical keyboards, smart keyboards, non distraction writing devices all the way to fountain pen and manuscript, my blockage was finally broken when I got my hands on a typewriter. The tactile sensation; the rhythm of typing, the feedback of the keys on the tips of my fingers and seeing the words permanently written in white "paper was the missing key. My life has not been the same ever since.”

… from this first experience came the imperative need, to understand this mechanical miracle and learn how to keep them working. For his journey he used his engineering and mechanical knowledge and applied it to this new field and learned the basics of servicing and further more dove into the more complex mechanical repair. 

For us typewriters are not just a machine; they are a way of life. This device has enabled us to express our most inner thoughts and feelings. Because of this, it is our goal in life to keep them bringing this joy to us and to all the world for as long as it is possible.
